All photographs that appear at phototeria were taken by and © Scott C. R. except for a few of the "classics" which were taken by various friends and/or family members.
Phototeria is a place for me to stick pictures so others can see them. It is really meant to be somewhere between a photojournal and an art |
site. So some days you'll see some relatively banal images of my cats, some days you'll see blurs that may or may not be anything more than blurs. And then you'll see telephone poles and light posts. Generally you should be able to discern between the art shots and the journal shots after going through about a month's worth of photos.
Camera/s:
I have been working almost exclusively with the Canon PowerShot G5 since the beginning of Phototeria. In fact, Phototeria was created as a place to display the results of this fine camera I bought in July, 2003. My preferred film camera, from which examples will be posted eventually, is the 1978 Canon AE-1. I bought that camera used in Bath, England on my honeymoon, so I could return the one I had previously been using to it's owner Ron.
Any photos from 2000- July 2003 were taken with my first digital camera, the Sony Mavica. So it was quite a jump from a less than 1 Megapixel camera (640 x 480) to a 5 Megapixel.
Other favored cameras are the good ol' Polaroid 600 One-Step and a couple of 70s-era Polaroid Land Cameras.
The Photographer:
I live in somewhat-rural western New Jersy (rural, in NJ??!?) on a farm with my wife and 5 cats. And soon to be son, so look for the pictures. I'm 33 years old as of 8/04. I consider myself a fine artist. Some people call me a painter. I have not been formally trained in either art or photography- or in fact anything else for that matter. For my day job I hold the title of Art Consultant at a rather large chain of Galleries. A couple of our bread and butter artists are Peter Max, Charles Fazzino and Alexandra Nechita.
As for the photography, you might notice that I have a penchant for telephone poles, light posts, and streaky night shots. As far as the latter is concerned, long exposure photography is my forté. It had a lot to do with why I chose the G5 as my weapon of choice.
The Photographs:
With very few exceptions, prints are available for all photographs that appear on Phototeria. Prices vary, but basically 8x10s will run you $25 and 5x7s will run $5 a piece, minimum of 4. A few photographs here will cost more, but none less. Trades are a possibility. But please don't be offended if I turn down a trade- it may be that my printer is out of ink and I just can't afford it. All prints are offered for sale WITHOUT FRAME.
CONTACT INFORMATION:
Notice the domain name you are now at. To contact me for any reason, my email is scott at the domain you are now at. I would just write the email address here, it would certainly be much easier, but the way spammers get email addresses these days is incredible, so this is an attempt to thwart at least one or two web spiders.
If you want to link to my web site, feel free. But please don't link to an image on my server but not the page the image appears on. If you do so, I will find out and hunt you down. I skirt the line with my bandwidth useage as it is. If you want to use an image for something, email me a we'll discuss it. I'm pretty happy to share but easily angered by copyright infringement. |
